I’m Confused!

I’ve been trying to figure this out, but it is probably a waste of time as there is rarely any logic to their arguments. Here are some arguments from the typical right wing person:
We need a strong military.
We should not allow other countries to push us around or take the lead and we should bomb, invade, attack, and flex our military muscle to solve problems. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were necessary.
Our country spends too much money and we need to cut the federal spending.
We should NOT cut military spending. A strong military is vital.
I need lots of guns, including assault rifles, because you can’t trust the government and you never know when the military is going to start then next (pick your evil regime – Soviet Russia, Communist China, Nazi Germany, . . . . ).
How does one possible find commonality with these issues?
