“Stop Being Stupid” isn’t Catching On with GOP―Surprised?

It appears everyone but Republican-elected officials remember the United States is in a war. Why else would the Senate leave for a one-week recess without approving President Obama’s Defense Secretary candidate, Chuck Hagel? Before their little vacation, the GOP remained true to form, reshaping and making up lots of stories to obstruct the nomination of this Vietnam vet who was awarded two Purple Stars before he became a Republican senator from Nebraska.

Never before has the senate filibustered the nomination of a Defense Secretary. Never before has there been a group of GOP senators so committed to destroying our country’s reputation as well as our safety.

Just one of the many absurd “justifications” used to delay this nomination is the creation of a Pro-Hamas group from which former Senator Hagel apparently received support. Not only was he funded by this terrorist-supporting organization that does not exist, he tried to keep it….a secret. OMG. He did not disclose not being funded by a non-existing terrorist organization. The horror.

Of course there is not a thimble full of truth attached to Senator Rand Paul‘s rant about this fake organization. There may not be a thimble full of integrity remaining in the Republican party. And now their games are endangering our country. Why can’t they just knock it off?
