Republicans Need to Grow Up!

Once again, the GOP is showing that it doesn’t know how to be grown up. They insist that everything has to be there way with no compromise. Close tax loop holes to boost revenue? Unthinkable! Make smart, highly targeted cuts? Never!
So now they whine about how horrible the cuts are and how they aren’t well thought out. Basically, they’re whining, “IT’S NOT FAIR!”
Of course their hope is to allow unlimited military spending, while killing social programs that protect the poor. They want to increase tax cuts for rich and extraordinarily profitable corporations, while limiting tax benefits for the working poor and college students.
Apparently they never learned about compromise. A successful compromise would cut military spending while also making reforms to medicare. It would close tax loopholes while also cutting wasteful spending. It would reform Social Security while also eliminating subsidies for oil companies that are making record profits.
Grow up, GOP, and put the country ahead of ideology and political gain!

It’s really quite incredible — the sequester deal was created to be so absurd that there would be NO WAY any elected official would vote to allow the drop-dead date to elapse. Follow logic on this one, and the result is obvious and true: the GOP will go to the most absurd lengths to bully our president, democrats and every single voter in this country. I couldn’t agree with you more skokielib, Republicans need to grow up — man up — knock it off. Has anyone seen a more entitled group of bigots in government in our history?
