Tomorrow is the 1st anniversary of the murder of little boys and girls attending Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT. I’ve got 4 grandchildren in elementary schools, and since that day I’ve worried about schools and guns and crazy people. This year many Sandy Hook students’ stockings aren’t hung by the chimney with care. Lists haven’t been sounded out. Families remain devastated. I can’t think about it without tearing up. I cannot imagine what those families are going through.

They’ve asked for peace tomorrow. As if peace will ever come their way again. However, I stumbled upon this website: http://www2.sandyhookpromise.org. It’s common sense ways to stop the madness of gun control run amok. As a non-profit, their efforts are not for any one company or lobbyist or politician’s gain. Imagine the money that funded the NRA Headquarter building pictured here.

Then imagine for 30 seconds what those families are going through. Then think about what it must be like to live with the reality every day along with the arrogance of the NRA and the unwillingness of so many to consider common sense ways to create responsible gun control laws.

God bless Sandy Hook students, family, administration. I pray our country will muster a percentage of the courage demonstrated every day in Newton, CT, and stop this madness. They are living without their children — can’t we show the strength of character needed to face down those who only care about their weapons and ammunition?
