Worst Speaker In Modern History?

The incredibly weak and misguided focus of the GOP over the past five years is certainly starting to pay them back. For all their horrible intentions of simply trying to prevent President Obama from being re-elected, rather than doing things that were good for the country, they are now seeing their world collapse.

Had Speaker Boehner and the GOP spoken up about what was right and why it was right, instead of taking advantage of a lunatic fringe group that appears to be focused on taking us back to 1787, the Tea Party group would not have the power that they have now. But rather than choosing to be a strong Speaker, exhibited balanced leadership (see Tip O’Neill), Boehner and the GOP got played by the Tea Party. Now they are faced with the impossible task of trying to do something right to insure their future, while the lunatic fringe group THEY courted and put into power has taken over the GOP and made it impossible to compromise on ANYTHING.

I think it is pretty clear that Boehner’s miscalculations have brought a heavy cost to bear on the United States AND on his own party.
