What is Scott Brown talking about? Does he see scores of zombie like Ebola infected people looking for a way into the United States so that they can feed off its citizens and continue to spawn their own?

The hysteria is really quite bizarre, but then again, most of the people that are making the craziest arguments are Republicans – who are not noted for their scientific acumen (i.e., pray the gay away, global warming is a hoax, dinosaurs and people roamed the earth at the same time).

As President Obama once again showed, sometimes it is best to think through a problem and take the best approach, rather than the first approach. In recent weeks we had Republicans asking that we stop flights from the west African nations suffering from the Ebola outbreaks. But as any frequent flier knows, there is more than one way to get from point A to point B. So instead of banning flights, our government has now developed a system to flag passports that have been scanned in those areas and then perform an on the spot examination to determine if they are infected. More sensible, more practical, and more effective.
