On Saturday I made a number of campaign contributions. This is the first election cycle where I’ve given money to candidates in other states. But I feel strongly that the path the GOP wants to put us on is really bad for the United States and really bad for Americans. It angers me that I have to make these donations in hopes of trying to give the Democrats some ability to compete with the Republicans – which are funded by big oil, coal, the Koch Brothers, and so on. But I feel like it is the right thing to do.

Now, a few days later, I have 26 new fundraising e-mails. Really? No one says it better than Jon Stewart.
