President Obama has made a huge policy shift toward Cuba. I welcome it. If we can have normalized relations with China, Vietnam, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and multitudes of other countries where civil rights are not a way of life, why not Cuba?

We already know how Conservatives will react. They will tell us that we hadn’t gone far enough. Just like we haven’t cut taxes enough, we don’t have enough gun freedom, and we don’t have enough freedom for corporations. They will tell us it is the end of America. Just like Obamacare was the end of America. Just like gay marriage is the end of America. Just like trying to prevent insane people from owning guns is the end of America.

These are the kinds of actions liberals expected from this President. I suspect you will see approval ratings going up. And you will see the US AND Cuba both as better places because of this policy shift. You will see Cuba become more of a free society. Still a long way from perfect, but an improvement over what they were.
