Now that John Boehner has been re-elected as Speaker of the House, we can all breath a sigh of relief that it wasn’t someone on the lunatic fringe of the party. Because as bad as John Boehner is, the thought of Louie Gohmert as Speaker is beyond frightening.

It is both amazing and frightening how far right this country has moved. In what world should it be possible that John Boehner is on the centrist side of the Republican Party? In just about any other era, he would be considered far right and he himself would be the lunatic fringe. Instead, he is the voice of reason and moderation. At least as far as this Republican Party is willing to be reasonable and moderate. Which is to say this Republican Party is anything but reasonable or moderate.

I would bet one of his first actions will be to vote to repeal Obamacare. And we can also be pretty sure he will try to eliminate the EPA.

What a scary world! Get your veto pen ready, Mr. President!
