With people like Rand Paul and Chris Christie in power, and taking a run at the Presidency in 2016, it looks very bleak for America’s future. They believe selfishness and ignorance should trump over the general good will of the population. But only to a certain extent.

For example, if you believe that we don’t need to spend as much on defense as the next ten closest countries, so you don’t want to pay that part of your taxes, I’m guessing they wouldn’t be okay with that. Don’t want to pay the portion of your taxes that goes toward corporate welfare? Probably not.

Look! Some people are stupid. We can’t change that. Some people with absolutely no understanding of science are going to just make up weird stuff and tell us insane things. Like why vaccines are bad for you (or why global climate change is a myth, or why trickle down economics works, or why dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time as man, or that evolution is just a crazy theory). We can’t change that. But allowing them to weaken the herd of humans is just crazy.
