How quickly Republicans forget! It seems that House Speaker John Boehner hates the filibuster as much as Mitch McConnell. Which would be amusing if it weren’t so pathetic. When the tables were turned, Mr. Boehner was a huge fan of the filibuster. And Mitch McConnell used it like it was the only thing the Senate was designed to do.

Mr. Boehner knows full well that even if the bill did get passed, because it defunds Obama’s immigration reform, President Obama has vowed to veto it. So it is a meaningless bill by a meaningless person from a meaningless party.

So here is a radical idea. Instead of talking about bi-partisanship while acting as partisan and divisive as Republicans have ever been, why don’t you sit down with both sides, discuss immigration reform, decide what both sides agree on, and pass meaningful immigration reform legislation that would put the House and Senate in control. I guess this is easier said than done when the Republican party is now pretty firmly split between completely irrational super far right extremists, and just slightly far right wing ideologues like Boehner. You created this mess, Mr. Boehner and have no one to blame but yourself and your party.
