It would seem that science and guns don’t mix. Many gun nuts are on the far right, which tends to dislike science. Mostly because they have problems with scientific fact. Things like evolution and climate change. And humans walking the planet with dinosaurs.

This is an interesting op-ed about some research into guns and where scientists stand. It turns out, the majority of scientists find that guns in the home mean more suicides. A gun in the home raises the risk of death for the female partner (by gunshot). And guns aren’t really used to protect their owners nearly as often as they are used in crimes.

I don’t find anything remarkable in this. Other than just some scientific evidence toward the need to limit gun ownership.
