It took too long. But I’m amazed at how many of the hard core Republican right have made the decision that it is time for the confederate flag to go (Lindsey Graham, Nikki Haley, Robert Bentley, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney). They recognize that it IS a symbol of hatred, racism, and human slavery. So it is the logical and the moral choice. But this is a group that rarely does what is logical and moral.

I also had to smile at the comment Governor Bentley made when he said, ” . . . I have taxes to raise.”

Could it be? Are Republicans becoming sane? Are they starting to recognize things that in the past would have required them to dig in and defend their positions?
