Gun Study After Gun Study Indicate Guns Make Us Less Safe

There have been numerous gun studies in recent years. And they all seem to conclude the same thing. Gun supporters’ claims that guns in society deter crime is wrong. States with more guns have more crime. Over two times more murders. Which also throws cold water on the claim by gun nuts that if they don’t have a gun, they’ll just kill commit the crime with some other weapon.

This latest study, by Harvard finds a 0.7% homicide increase for every 1.0% increase in guns. It also finds that gun homicide is about 2.8 times more likely in states with the most guns versus states with the least. Which also seems to dispel the notion that only criminals will have guns.

Also of important note is that homicides committed by a stranger don’t change in places where gun laws are different. So this tells us that more guns not only means more homicides, it means more homicides by people that know each other.

Of course gun nuts will tell us these statistics are made up liberal numbers. But they aren’t. The numbers don’t lie!
