How bad is our situation when the Koch Brothers are trying to buy their way into school boards?
As if it isn’t bad enough that they have already bought government at a state and national level, now they are trying to buy up school boards.
It is easy to understand why this interests them. If proper US history is taught to students, and they learn not only about all the wonderful stuff we’ve done as a nation, but also the horrible stuff, and they learn about how we solved some of those problems, they can also learn how to defeat the corporations that are trying to own every bit of our country.
They don’t like the thought of a country of citizens that understands that we had to pass anti-monopoly laws, fight a war to end slavery, protest to obtain some semblance of equal rights for blacks, and beat back the powers that wanted to keep control of the population and maintain all the power and money for themselves.
The Koch Brothers are much like feudal lords during the middle ages or the Robber Barons the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They want it all. Being filthy rich isn’t enough for them. They want all the money, all the control, and all the power. They appear unwilling to stop until they’ve achieved that goal.
The fact that they have so much money they can get involved in buying a school board is an indication of the trouble this country is in!
