According to FBI data, these are the ten worst states in our country as far as violent crime per 100,000 residents in 2013. The US average is 368 violent crimes per 100,000 residents.
– Alaska: 602.6/100k
– New Mexico: 596.7/100k
– Nevada: 591.2/100k
– Tennessee: 579.7/100k
– Louisiana: 510.4/100k
– South Carolina: 494.8/100k
– Delaware: 479.1/100k
– Maryland: 467.8/100k
– Florida: 460.0/100k
– Arkansas: 445.7/100k
So my question is, according to the gun rights crowd, getting rid of guns, not allowing open carry, and low ownership of guns results in more violent crime. All of these states are gun friendly. All but Maryland allow open carry and/or concealed carry with little requirement other than being allowed to carry a gun. It really throws cold water on the gun right’s crowd’s argument.
