These stories are all too common. An idiot with a gun shoots someone they shouldn’t have. Shoot first, ask questions later.

Perhaps with the husband having been a former undercover narcotics officer, they have more reason to live in fear. But it seems pretty clear to me when you shoot someone or something that you don’t actually see that you aren’t responsible enough to possess a gun.

The fact is, guns don’t make people safer. They make death in their house more likely. And they are most likely to kill or injure a family member.
