The Republicans and the right hated the Iranian nuclear deal. It was dangerous and reckless they said. It will lead to war and Iran being more aggressive.
And yet, we see that by normalizing relations and involving the rest of the world, Iran has started to change some of it’s behaviors. As a country, it is still far from a model country. But they no longer have the ability to make nuclear weapons and they are acting more reasonable.
The latest example is the return of five American’s held prisoner in Iran. I struggle to find any way this is not yet another positive outcome of the Obama Administration’s strong diplomatic efforts, John Kerry’s hard work, and a desire to have peace over war.
