On a recent appearance on Fox “News,” which should give everyone a clue as to his statement’s accuracy, Ted Cruz accused the Obama administration of releasing Iranians involved in Terrorism in exchanged for the five Americans Iran recently released.

Most of the Iranians being released were in fact charged with violating economic sanctions against Iran, which after Iran recently complied with international agreements to stop developing nuclear weapons, are no longer in place anyway. None of them were charged with terrorism.

When the right fans the flames of fear, they don’t worry too much about accuracy. The idea is to scare people into voting for them. It really is the only way to get votes because they don’t have any reasonable policy ideas or leadership skills.
