The number of guns people try to bring thru TSA checkpoints at airports is growing. Given the obsession with guns so many Americans have, I guess this shouldn’t be terribly surprising. But it is frightening.

Supposedly gun owners are mostly responsible and careful. But forgetting you have a gun in your bag is highly irresponsible. It is the same kind of idiocy that results in toddlers shooting themselves and others. It is the same kind of idiocy that results in stolen guns.

I sure hope that these people are being prosecuted. Accidental or intentional, forgetting you have a gun in your bag and trying to bring it on a plane is reckless and it endangers the safety of passengers, flight crew, and those on the ground.
