Do As Marco Says, Not As He Does

Marco Rubio decided to make an example of President Obama’s speech at a mosque yesterday. He decided that discrimination against Muslims isn’t really a problem. This from a guy who’s party regularly talks about such things as banning Muslim refugees and registering those that practice Islam.
But Rubio slammed Obama for pitting people against each other. Then he went on to talk about Islam being the problem. So, you know. he was pitting America against Muslims. But shame on Obama for calling out discrimination. Because, according to Republican “logic,” if you don’t talk about it or address it, it will just magically go away.
Essentially, what Rubio is saying is, “shame on President Obama for discussing discrimination and visiting a mosque. What a horrible thing to do!”
I’m going to suggest that perhaps instead of looking for divisiveness, Marco Rubio should accept the fact that Obama’s visit to a mosque, and his related speech better indicate that there is not all that much difference between us. That we should not fear Muslims. That they too, are victims of the damage done by those that kill in the name of religion.
Shame on you, Marco Rubio, for being divisive, petty, and hateful.
