Gun rights folks and the NRA love to explain all about how having a gun, and making sure everyone knows you have that gun, will make you safer.

But here is a story that, if guns made you safer, should not be happening. And to make it even more interesting, I read the story and came back later to write about it. I couldn’t find it in the same place, so I did a Google search on “gun store owner shot.” It is absolutely amazing how many stories there are. Go ahead. Google it yourself.

It almost seems like having guns makes you less safe. It almost seems like the NRA is telling people this lie to get them to buy more guns.
