I didn’t watch the GOP debate last night. I can only take so much of their nonsense, their lies, and their xenophobic war mongering rhetoric. But I’ve sure read a lot about it and it appears the major players continue to just shoot from the hip without any real regard for truth and without a solid understanding of how America compares to the rest of the world.
Trump has no idea where the US is on tax policy. He doesn’t understand Obamacare or how the insurance companies have dealt with it.
Cruz has no idea how many illegal immigrants are in this country or what we’ve done historically to send them home.
Christie doesn’t know where is own State’s credit rating stands. Well, he probably does but just doesn’t want to admit that its credit rating has taken multiple hits while he has been governor. Christie also thinks we pay ransoms for hostages. Which just isn’t true.
Rubio doesn’t know much about the middle east or the different branches of Islam. It is complex and confusing. But I would expect someone that is going to become our President and have to deal with this very complex issue to at least understand a little about Islam.
Cruz’s solution to the Syrian problem is to carpet bomb. When challenged on what he means by carpet bombing, he says precise air attacks. So, basically, he’s for what we are doing today. But he would never admit that!
This is one of the worst groups of candidates that have tried to win the Republican nomination. And that is quite a statement given recent history.
They are ignorant on current U.S. domestic and international policy. The are lost on where we stand in the world. They don’t understand the middle east and its problems. They don’t have real solutions to deal with the problems in our country. Which shouldn’t come as a surprise given the Republican party’s proud stance against smart, well educated people.
