The long saga of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge standoff in Oregon is finally over. The end result was much better than expected, with only one of the radical militants killed, and no injuries or death to law enforcement officials.
I’m glad that it ended peacefully, other than the idiot that tried to run a road block, then reached for his gun after saying he was willing to die. And I’m glad that American taxpayers are finally done with the costly and ridiculous events that these far right radical lunatics created.
I hope that justice is served and that they spend some time in prison to think about the ramifications of an armed invasion of land that belongs to ALL Americans. I hope that future radicals will realize that their really cool guns and camo outerwear don’t actually give them the power to do as they please and try to overrun the federal government.
And I also hope that the federal government makes them pay all the costs associated with this dangerous radical stunt that could have ended much worse for those that mounted the armed invasion, local citizens, and the brave law enforcement folks that had to deal with this.
Finally, I say to the State of Oregon and our Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, “Well done!” Good job of avoiding necessary violence and bloodshed, and good job of ultimately taking all the armed militant radicals into custody.
