About That Supreme Court Justice Nomination

February 25, 2016 by Chris Kite

This is a very interesting article about the obstructionism of the Republican party and how it all plays out.

Basically, it says McConnell has taken the unprecedented step of getting the committee members to sign an oath that they will not meet with a nominee, they will not hold hearings, they will not vote, and they will not confirm a nominee because in order to win this battle, the Republicans must just shut down the nomination process and get the Democrats to give up.

Apparently McConnell not only doesn’t have a good understanding of the history of supreme court appointments, but he also hasn’t been paying attention to one President Barack Hussein Obama. Because President Obama has never given up on getting things done. He has continued to fight. He has continued to find ways to make some kind of accomplishment in the wake of complete and total obstructionism by Congressional and Senate Republicans.

It is a very interesting read. Mr. Marshall’s take away is that the Supreme Court nomination battle is only over if the Democrats let it be over. I don’t see that happening.
