The Argument Against A Reduced Personal Carbon Footprint

This is powerful. It dispells the ridiculous notion that global climate change can be positively impacted by one person. Even a person that is a “mega-consumer.”

Without changes in policy, Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Gore could completely eliminate their carbon footprint and it would have such a tiny influence on global greenhouse gasses that it would not bend the needle of global warming even a tiny bit.

It isn’t hypocritical to live a rich life and be for policy that limits or reverses climate change. Because without large scale, systematic change, we’re all doomed!
