Shrinking Sea Ice Evidence Of Climate Change

Despite the “evidence” the climate skeptics are always “producing,” the proof of global climate change continues to show very scary results.
This winter witnessed the smallest arctic sea ice on record. Not just lower than last year. Not just lower than last decade. The lowest on record!
For comparison, when compared to the average between 1981 and 2010, the arctic sea ice was smaller by an area roughly the size of the state of Montana.
While the extremely strong El Niño played a role, there is no doubt that that climate change also played a big role. Like so many side effects from global climate change, lower levels of sea ice has an accelerating effect on climate change because the darker sea water absorbs more heat than the lighter colored sea ice.
Of course this isn’t likely to change the minds of the anti-science, climate denying right wing extremists in the Republican party.
