Have you ever wondered why Republicans are always so worried about voter fraud and so convinced it is an issue? Have you ever wondered why Republicans are so convinced voter fraud is happening and they think it is widespread?
The simple truth is that Republicans are worried because they want to suppress voters and when they can’t, they need to find other ways of keeping those people from voting. Or at least keeping them from voting for Democrats.
The Department of Justice is looking into the decision of election officials in Maricopa County in Arizona. Because it seems those officials decided to dramatically reduce the number of polling stations and it looks like many of the voters were not properly registered for the political party of their choosing.
There were reports of long lines, with waits of up to five hours. There were reports of people not getting to vote. There were reports of people having to submit provisional ballots.
This is in a state with a history of suppressing the voting rights of minorities. This is in a state where until the Supreme Court overturned the Voting Rights Act.
Once again, it looks like Republicans and Conservatives are doing everything they can to prevent people from voting. Especially minorities and the poor.
