Why Clinton Innocence (Or Guilt) Is Irrelevant

To Republicans, facts rarely matter. Especially when it comes to Bill or Hillary Clinton.
It doesn’t matter that after numerous investigations, absolutely nothing turned up on Benghazi. To listen to right wing nut jobs, Hillary Clinton is guilty of a high crime. Despite no evidence, those on the right are convinced that she knew about the attack ahead of time, had a military force ready to go but ordered them not to go, covered up the truth about the event, and, I suspect, actually provided arms to the attackers.
It won’t matter that after a complete and thorough investigation of Hillary Clinton’s e-mail server “scandal” that she has done nothing wrong.
The Republicans are desperate to try to stop her. Finding no crime and thus having no need for prosecution will not matter. The right will continue to insinuate that she did something wrong, it just hasn’t been made public yet. According to their Constitution, Clintons are guilty when the right decides they’ve done something wrong. They have no right to an investigation, or a trial, or a verdict by a jury. The right will continue to look for new scandals. All the while distracting from the real issues. All the while distracting from the economy, foreign relations, global climate change, the ever growing wealth gap, and more. They don’t want to have any focus on their obstructionism or their failure to take action on a Supreme Court nominee.
Republicans are like a wounded animal. They are so desperate they are now starting to rally around Donald Trump, the most unqualified person to ever be taken seriously as a Presidential candidate.
Maybe if they weren’t so busy inventing fake scandals and spinning lies, they might be able to focus on getting good and qualified people to run. Relying on scandal to win the White House isn’t the best strategy. It appears unlikely to work.
