These stories are just too frequent. Someone has a gun. A child gets hold of the gun. The child shoots and injures or kills themselves or someone else.
In this case, it was a security guard. I would like to think they had some kind of training. But not necesarily.
I take these stories as proof that not everyone is the right material for gun ownership. There should be testing and certification. Even that is no insurance that people won’t be careless. Or stupid. But it should help reduce the risk.
We have a gun problem in the United States. The sooner we recognize that problem, the sooner we can start reducing senseless gun deaths.
You can just imagine. Had this been an ebola death, or a death from a Muslim terrorist, or a death from an undocumented immigrant, the right would be screaming about how we need to take action immediately. But because it was an idiot with a gun. Well. Bad things happen sometimes.
