Perhaps Its The Guilty Until Proven Innocent Strategy Republicans So Adore
Donald Trump has been bringing up all the old Clinton “scandals and conspiracies.” You know the ones. Those “scandals” where Republicans have spent millions of taxpayer money to try to score a political victory, only to never, ever be able to prove any wrong doing on Hillary (or Bill) Clinton’s part.
It has been never ending. The only thing anyone has been able to pin on either one of the Clintons is that Bill Clinton lied about having an affair. Never mind the hypocrisy of the GOP in leading the investigation and impeachment of Bill Clinton with a bunch of politicians that were also involved in illicit affairs. Never mind that one of them is now going to prison because he was paying off the people he molested when they were teenagers and he was a high school wrestling coach.
But Trump has a very good point. He said, “It’s the one thing with her, whether it’s Whitewater or whether it’s Vince, or whether is’t Benghazi. It’s always a mess with Hillary.”
Maybe Donald Trump hasn’t noticed that the reason things are always messy is because Republicans are always inventing false scandals, investigating them, finding Hillary Clinton did no wrong, but still talking about it as if she broke some kind of law or did something wrong.
So it really isn’t a mystery. It has been a decades long smear campaign. Now Trump is jumping on the bandwagon and pretending he doesn’t have his own checkered past with rape allegations, federal law suits, bankruptcies, and a trail of ruin in his wake.
Nice. Very nice! Except it seems like things are always a mess with you, too, Donald.
