Obama Honestly And Directly Answers Gun Store Owner

For almost eight years, we’ve heard from gun rights lunatics and the NRA that Obama is coming to take your guns. We’ve heard it over and over. No one can point to any specific action or attempt, but that doesn’t matter in today’s world of internet conspiracy theorists. And it doesn’t matter in a country controlled by the NRA who likes to spread those conspiracy theories.

So at a recent PBS Newshour town hall meeting, President Obama took a question from a gun store owner asked why Obama and Clinton want to restrict ownership of guns for the “good guys.”

Obama was his usual calm and factual self and provided an excellent response.

“At no time have I ever proposed confiscating guns from responsible gun owners.”

He went on to talk about how we should apply common sense ideas to gun control. Such as not allowing people that we know have been on ISIL web sites and are on the do not fly list, but can’t be prevented from buying a gun.

It’s all true. But that won’t matter. The NRA and the gun rights nut cases will continue to believe that Democrats are coming for their guns.
