The right, as it does so well, have seized on fear and differences and are speaking out about the need to deal with “Islam.”

It is absolutely impossible to pin the actions of a few on an entire religion, but that is what the right wants to do. Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are at the top of the list for people that over react, overstate the danger, and blame Islam for the problem.

But I would like to bring up an argument that these same people are so fond of whenever we have a mass shooting and someone calls for gun control in an effort to reduce gun violence.

Now is not the time to talk about Islam. When emotions are raw and fear is high, it is wrong to focus on Islam as the problem. We have a mental health issue in this country.

Yep. All I did was replace gun control with Islam.

Why aren’t they making that argument now? Maybe because the NRA isn’t pulling their puppet strings?
