The Chaos of Trump’s VP Selection

While I feel Indiana Governor Mike Pence is a horrible choice for Vice President, that is based on politics. In terms of the Republican Party, he is probably a pretty solid choice.
But for Trump, the selection has been one disaster after another.
First, Pence was highly critical of Trump in the recent past. And we’re not talking about just disagreeing on policy, but he was critical of Trump as a person.
Even more disastrous was the process of selecting and announcing the choice. There were leaks. There was debate. There was word that Trump wasn’t set on the choice and was even reconsidering as recently as the night before the announcement.
THIS is the way Trump operates. He doesn’t believe in professionalism and careful analysis by a team. He believes in gut feelings. Those may be okay in business. Okay, actually they aren’t as evidenced by all the businesses that Trump has managed to destroy. Or never get off the ground.
But when it comes to making domestic and foreign policy decisions and when it comes to commanding the largest, deadliest, most fearsome and destructive military on the planet, going with gut feelings is an awfully terrible idea.
I don’t want Trump making gut decisions about our country’s policies. And I particularly don’t want him making a gut decision when it comes to our military and our nuclear weapons!
