Republicans Could Sell Off National Parks

The Republicans were working on their platform and one of the big items is a call to sell off certain public lands to private interests. And to let state and local governments manage much of what is federal land today.
Let me be clear that the platform doesn’t specifically call out selling our National Parks. But it doesn’t specify that National Parks are NOT in those lands they would sell off.
As lovers of free market and ugly commercialism, it isn’t hard to imagine National Parks perhaps not being sold off, but allowed to become much more commercial. Imagine a soaring Trump Tower over the rim of the Grand Canyon! It isn’t hard to imagine a Six Flags over Yosemite. Or a giant Yellowstone Holiday Inn right next to Old Faithful.
I simply don’t trust a party that is all for strip mining, fracking, clear cut logging, killing of wildlife, and destruction of pristine lands because there is an opportunity to make a few bucks. This is what Republicans are all about. Profit, profit, profit!
So while I don’t know that what Republican’s mean is to sell off the National Parks, I’m concerned enough to think it is worth knowing about and worth preventing.
