When more than seventy members of the Republican party come together with a letter to ask the party heads to cut off funding for the Trump campaign, you know you’ve got a pretty big problem.
Trump is so offensive, so outrageous, and so indecent that he is driving many Republicans to denounce him, say they won’t vote for him, or withheld their support from him. That is unheard of in recent history. It is a sign of the deep division in the party and the slow unraveling and destruction of the party.
The only questions I have are why is this letter necessary? And why are there only around 70 names on it? Shouldn’t Republicans have never funded the campaign of a hateful, violence encouraging, openly racist candidate? And if a letter is necessary, shouldn’t it be nearly unanamous?
