This is a really good piece about the relationship between the Clintons and the Media. It seems there is a pretty strong feeling of mutual distrust.
But I don’t think that explains all the negative and largely unfair press that Hillary Clinton receives. I think there are several other things at play. First and foremost is the double standard applied to female candidates. Things that are perfectly acceptable in a male candidate are often deemed inappropriate in the female candidate.
Then there is the constant attack by the right on the “liberally biased” mainstream media. It seems the media is in such a need to prove they are not “liberally biased” that they often report right wing talking points and attacks, things are often not even remotely factual, as somehow being factual and relevant.
And finally, there is the intense negative scrutiny rightly given to Donald Trump. Trump’s largely negative coverage in the media is not due to liberal bias, but due to his racism, calls for violence, ignorance, lack of decency, and his clear lack of understanding of our country, the world, the United States Constitution, or how government or world politics work.
But again, this is a very good piece that gives a good look at the relationship between the Clintons and the media.
