The Solution Is Quite Obvious

A recent AP-GfK poll shows that a majority of Americans are afraid of Donald Trump becoming President.
Think about that for a few minutes. More than half the people in the United States of America fear Donald Trump becoming President.
Other highlights of this poll are that 61 percent view him unfavorably and only 30% of those surveyed think he is even somewhat qualified to become President.
Again, that is a very sobering statistic. Not even one third of the population think he is slightly qualified to be President. Roughly half of voters think Clinton is at least somewhat qualified. That shows how effective the right wing fear, uncertainty, and doubt campaign has been over the past few decades.
Almost 60% of voters approve of his central campaign theme, building a wall between the US and Mexico. Even among his supporters, only 21% believe his outrageous lie that Mexico will pay for the wall.
So after reading all this, a simple question comes to mind. Why the hell is he polling anywhere close to Hillary Clinton if this is representative of the view?
Here’s the thing. We have this thing in this country called an election. Ever citizen that isn’t a felon is allowed to register and vote. It isn’t hard. In some states it is as easy as getting a drivers license. And voting isn’t much harder. You can go to a polling station on election day, or, in many states, you can vote early at a polling station or even vote by mail. You have no excuse for not voting. In some countries, people literally are willing to risk their lives to vote. Is it asking to much to get out of your house and vote?
We as responsible citizens must turn out to vote this election. I’m guessing that anyone that reads this blog is already a registered voter. But we need to spread the word. Register and vote.
It is not an exaggeration to say that this is the most important election in the last half century. I don’t think we’ve had such stark differences between candidates since Lyndon Baines Johnson and Barry Goldwater in 1964. And even then, while Goldwater was a complete and total racist, I don’t think he was as clueless or unqualified as Donald Trump.
Donald Trump is 100% unqualified to be President of the United States of America. We must get out and vote and insure it doesn’t happen!
