The Paris Accord Under Trump

November 17, 2016 by Chris Kite

Donald Trump believes climate change is a hoax created by the Chinese. Which is odd, given that until recently, the Chinese were the second biggest contributors to global climate change and had no interest in helping to decrease it’s carbon emissions.

We all knew Trump lacked critical thought or the ability to grasp science (or reality), so the fact that one of his priorities is to tear up the Paris Accord isn’t much of a surprise.

The rest of the world that has signed on to the Paris Accord believes in science, and happens to be very concerned that if the US pulls out, the rest of the world will also begin pulling back.

But I think there is a solution that Trump and the science denying Republicans will understand. Simply impose massive tariffs on goods or services from any nation that doesn’t comply with the Paris Accord. Come to an agreement that all nations will impose tariffs on any product or service from any nation that is not signed on to, and honoring the Paris Accord.
