Trump To Remilitarize Police?
2December 14, 2016 by Chris Kite
It seems almost impossible to read any news without reading something hair raising and disturbing about Donald Trump and what he plans to do. The article in the link below is no exception.
During his campaign, Trump promised to rescind Obama’s executive order that prevented state and local police departments from getting surplus grenade launchers, bayonets, tracked armored vehicles, weaponized aircraft and vehicles, and firearms and ammunition of .50-caliber or greater. The police organization that backed him is looking to hold him to his word.
Of course the first question that comes to mind is why on earth does a police department need grenade launchers .50-caliber guns, weaponized aircraft, or tracked armored vehicles?
Just a thought, but maybe if our citizens were not so overly armed with assault rifles and other such weapons, the police might not find it necessary to get into an arms race with the civilian population. But even with all those crazy civilian weapons, it isn’t like we are seeing situations where a militarized police force is often necessary. Those kinds of weapons are used to fight wars, not protect and serve the general populace.
Could it be possible that Donald Trump wants a heavily armed police force to help quell citizen protests as he enacts his fascist agenda?
We need to. It’s about time the bad guys go to jail instead of getting away with crimes. It’s about time police can do their job. Whenever a cop pulls someone over, all the idiots in the car start turning on their iPhones and record. Cops are meant to protect us. We need them and need them to do their job. We need the government to support the people and we need it now. Very good info boss. We carry similar interests. Care to follow, I’ll return the favor?

First of all, militarizing the police has absolutely nothing to do with upholding the law or prosecuting criminals.
Perhaps you haven’t noticed that the US has more people in prison than any other nation. That’s right. Even China, with a billion more people than the US and the ability to put people in prison for just about any reason has less people in prison.
I have nothing against police and agree that we need them. We don’t them them to have military grade weapons, however.
