The President Is Supposed To Set The Standard

The question of ethics and President-elect Trump continues to raise important questions. As we’ve seen over recent decades, America’s Presidents have been expected to set the standard for ethics. All Presidents after Nixon have fully removed themselves form any business interest AND divested themselves of those business assets.
By this point, we’ve learned to expect Donald Trump to think he is somehow less accountable to rules and the norms of holding the most powerful office in the free world. It is time for this attitude to stop.
we cannot afford to have a President that has any possible appearance of making decisions for any reason other than the good of the country.
As commander in chief, he will be the one that asks soldiers and those serving their country to put their life on the line. If a soldier is willing to put their life on the line to serve their country, shouldn’t our President be willing to dissolve his business interests?
There is no excuse for not meeting all ethics requirements. It is an honor and a privilidge to be President of the United States. It is an insult to the country, our people, and our rich history to refuse to meet the highest ethics standards.
