The Disrespect Is Astounding

On his first day in office, our new President stood in front of the wall that honors the 119 CIA heroes that gave their lives for their country and insulted their honor.
Instead of taking the opportunity to recognize these brave people making the ultimate sacrifice, he made a speech largely about him. And as he does with such regularity, he told lie after lie.
He insulted the intelligence community by denying that he said bad things about them. There is no question about what he said. He made comments on live TV during debates. He tweeted. He disparaged the intelligence comuunity. He went so far as to compare them to Nazi Germany! But he stood in front of this wall, a wall with 119 stars that each represent the lose of a CIA community life, and he told lies.
As if it really matters, he lied about the crowds at his inauguration the day before. Standing in front of a wall honoring heros, he talked about something so trivial as the size of his inaugural crowd.
He is disrespectful to almost everyone. Many people say we should always respect the President because it shows respect for the office. And yet, this man, our 45th President, cannot respect the brave men and women that have given their lives in the service of their country.
It is hard for me to imagine why he deserves respect.
He needs to learn to show respect. He needs to realize the office of President of the United States is about our country, not the person in the office. He needs to control the monster that is his ego.
