In his address to Congress, Republican President Donald Trump once again claimed personal responsibility for reducing the cost of the Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter. This is a lie.

The head of the program announced significant contract price reductions back on December 19, before Trump became President and before he met with Lockheed’s CEO. President Trump had nothing to do with this and it would have happened with or without him.
