Before the CBO had even scored the new Republican Obamacare replacement bill, Republicans were out in force trying to discredit the CBO as wildly inaccurate. But that simply isn’t true. That is a lie.

The CBO was not perfect, but they actually got a lot of things very right with their original assessment of Obamacare (Affordable Care Act). They were very close with the number of people that would be covered under the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare. And they got pretty close on health average insurance premiums, too.

They missed in a few areas, largely because of the supreme court challenge that ended up allowing states to opt out of Medicaid expansion.

But at the end of the day, to call the CBO analysis of Obamacare wildly inaccurate is a lie. It is a partisan lie that the Republicans often roll out whenever they don’t like the numbers the CBO projects for their bills.
