Trump And Republicans Hurting Supporters Most With Obamacare Repeal

It seems amazingly uninformed that so many Trump supporters and Republican voters will be hurt the most by the Obamacare repeal, should it pass. In recent decades, older, poor white, rural voters have overwhelming supported Republicans despite being hammered by them at every turn.
An analysis of the new bill finds that many of the voters that put Trump in office will lose the most in subsidies should the Obamacare repeal become successful. They will either pay more for coverage, or, more likely, lose coverage because they cannot afford it. It probably doesn’t seem important to many of them, if they are struggling to put food on the table and pay their rent or their mortgage. But when they get sick, they will find that struggling to put food on the table and pay for their housing is no longer a possibility because all of their money will go toward paying for healthcare.
It seems ignorant. It largely is. But I guess these people feel more freedom in that they will no longer be required to have health insurance. For the vast majority of people, paying for healthcare during an illness isn’t so much an “if” as a “when.” Most of us have some kind of major medical expenses in our lifetime. Without decent health insurance, those major medical expenses become a major threat to our quality of life and perhaps, the difference between owning a home or being homeless.
This is a sad outcome and seems particularly cruel!
