Rushing To Move Before The Truth Gets Out

Congress voted to suspend its rule that prevents a bill from being voted on the same day it is marked up. Presumably this is so that we don’t rush into things without all the facts. Presumably this is to give Congress time to carefully read and consider the bill and its impacts, both positive and negative. Presumably this is so that the public has some time to read the bill and contact their Representatives with concerns, questions, or support. Presumably this is to give the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) a chance to “score the bill” and tell congress and the public what the bill will mean in terms of costs and savings. And, of course, in this case, the number of people that gain or lose coverage.

The fact that congress is in a big Damn hurry to pass this before anyone can read it. Or before the CBO can score it, tells us everything we need to know.

Congress is moving fast to try to pull a fast one and to try to pass the bill on the seven year anniversary of Obamacare. They know the bill isn’t good for us. They know the people aren’t going to support it. So they’re going to hurry up and do it fast before anyone notices. But if this bill would good for the American people, wouldn’t it be just as good next week or the week after?

What exactly are they hiding from the American people?
