Trump Administration budget director Mick Mulvaney looks like he might be trying to one up the other members of the Trump Administration when it comes to lying. He’s told a couple really good ones in the past few weeks.

The latest was his claim that Social Security disability insurance is the fastest growing program. He said, “Let me ask you a question. Do you really think that Social Security disability insurance is part of what people think of when they think of Social Security? I don’t think so. It’s the fastest-growing program. It grew tremendously under President Obama. It’s a very wasteful program, and we want to try and fix that.”

This is a lie. It isn’t true. It isn’t partly true. It isn’t close to true.

So once again, I ask the question. If things are really so bad, why can’t Republicans point to actual evidence of bad things that are happening? Why must they always make things up?
