Republican President Donald Trump, in an interview with Time magazine, claimed that he was proven right about his outrageous lie that President Obama had Trump Tower bugged. His basis was that Republican Devin Nunes, without providing any specific evidence, claims that Trump Administration may have been incidentally picked up in other surveillance operations.
Just so we’re clear. This does not prove Trump right in any way. First, no one has shown any evidence that Trump tower or Donald Trump, or any of his campaign workers or associates were ever under direct surveillance. Second, no one has provided any evidence that President Obama ordered any surveillance on anything to do with the Russian scandal or Trump.
And that’s assuming that there is actually evidence that any Trump associates were even picked up incidentally under other surveillance. We’ve yet to see any evidence or hear anyone outside of the Trump Administration or it’s surrogates that makes this claim.
He was not proven right. He lied. And he’s lying more to try to confuse people with the origin of the lie. None of it is true!
