Republican Lie Of The Day

Republicans are claiming the potential filibuster of Supreme Court judge nominee Neil Gorsuch is unprecedented. While it is true that a Supreme Court judge approval has never before been subjected to a filibuster, Republicans are forgetting that just last year they refused to even hold hearings on President Obama’s nominee Merrick Garland. Most of them wouldn’t even meet with him. So yeah, they didn’t filibuster only because they would even let the nominee get to the hearing stage.

We knew this was coming. Let’s not pretend that it is unprecedented. Let’s not pretend that stealing the Supreme Court seat that President Obama should have been allowed to fill didn’t happen and isn’t why the Democrats are threatening a filibuster.
And let’s not be surprised when this war of partisan politics continues to escalate with every shift in power.
