There were allegations a number of months ago that former Trump Campaign head Paul Manafort received $1.2M in payments from pro-Putin Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. At the time, Manafort denied the existence of these payments.

Now that they have in fact been traced back to Manafort, he is claiming it was all part of his legitimate consulting business. So. He denied them. But now he says they were just part of his legitimated business. Why did he initially lie about them then?

To further complicate matters, the money came from companies once registered in Belize.

Got that? He didn’t receive any such payments. Until caught. Then he did but they were perfectly legitimate. And they came from companies that weren’t registered in the US or in the Ukraine.

Doesn’t sound so perfectly legitimate to me!
